040708-N-6213R-036 Pacific Ocean (July 8, 2004) - Cdr. Marcus Pritchard, Executive Officer of the "Fist of the Fleet" of Strike Fighter Squadron Two Five (VFA-25) prepares to launch from one of four steam driven catapults in an F/A-18C Hornet aboard USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74).  Stennis and Carrier Air Wing Fourteen (CVW-14) are taking part in the multi-national maritime exercise "Rim of the Pacific 2004" (RIMPAC).  RIMPAC is the largest international maritime exercise in the waters around the Hawaiian Islands.  This year's exercise includes seven participating nations; Australia, Canada, Chile, Japan, South Korea, United Kingdom and United States.  RIMPAC is intended to enhance the tactical proficiency of participating units in a wide array of combined operations at sea, while enhancing stability in the Pacific Rim region.  Photo by Mark J.
